Stan White Realty & Construction has been in business for more than three decades on the Outer Banks as a full-service real estate and construction company. Through three offices, the company handles all property management needs for over 700 vacation rental homes. In addition, the company offers long term residential management services, commercial leasing, residential and commercial construction, remodeling services and much more. Most of the staff and crewmembers have been part of the Stan White Realty & Construction family for over two decades. Stan White is known for his expertise and active involvement in the Outer Banks community. Stan White Realty & Construction was voted “Best of the Beach” four years in a row by Coast Magazine in the Property Management Category.
Workflow Challenge
Managing over 700 vacation rental homes typically means a lot of paperwork — on average, Stan White Realty & Construction sends out 600-1000 contracts per month. This means a lot of time was spent emailing back and forth, faxing contracts back and forth, spending money on postage when contracts were “snail mailed”, and a lot of time following up to see if the paperwork had been signed. On average, it took about 7-10 days to get a rental contract signed and sometimes longer to get payment. This process was inefficient, expensive and slow. So Stan White Realty & Construction tasked VBL Technologies, their technology service partner, to find an easier, more efficient and less expensive way to manage their construction and property rental agreements.

It’s a lot less work and our people can focus on our guests and making the reservation.” Prior to EchoSign, the sales reps were spending about 20% of their time chasing paperwork and with EchoSign they spend 5% or less time checking the status of the contract with the customer. “Now, since everything is online, we don’t have to worry about keeping a file cabinet full of contracts that our management and staff have to shuffle through.” Most of Stan White’s customers are comfortable signing contracts electronically. Those that are not comfortable use the EchoSign fax back capability.
